The 26 year-old grew up in Grand Blanc and attended the local high school.

He completed his high school at the Grand Blanc Highschool. Once his high school was over, he enrolled at Stanford University to pursue his degree in electrical engineering.

Career

Fisher started running when he was just in grade seven by joining the cross country team. Once, he was in high school, even there he joined the cross country and soccer team.

During his high school days, he ran in the Footlocker Midwest regionals and nationals and won both.

Around this time, he also took part in the Adidas Grand Prix and ran a mile in a short time of 4:02.02, which made him the winner of the race.

His high school career kept getting better as he again won the Footlocker Nationals and Portage Invitational during his senior year. He even became the seventh high schooler who broke the record of running a mile in 4 minutes. 

After his high school was over, he joined Stanford University. Even in college, he continued his passion for running and took part in many races.

While still in college, he won the 500m race in the Outdoor Track and Field event organized by the NCAA. 

He played for his college until he went professional in 2020 after he got sponsored by Nike. 

He kept continuing his career on the tracks and took part in the races organized by Bowerman Track Club. During one of these races, he even set a time record of 3:36.23, which was his personal best till that day.

Besides these, Fisher is also a Gatorade Player of the year and a three-time winner of the Pac-12 Championship.

He also qualified for a spot in the US Olympic team in 2016 but didn’t make it to the finals.

Fisher again took part in the Olympic trials this year and ran in the 5000 m and 10,000 m events. He came second in both games and qualified to represent Team USA in the ongoing 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. In the 5000m trials, Paul Chelimo came first and Woody Kincaid achieved the third position.

He has already competed in the 10,000 m race held on 30th July, but sadly, he couldn’t win the gold as he came fifth.

However, we can still hope that he can win gold in the upcoming 5,000 m race.
