The couple even welcomed their first child in March 2016 and named him Edwards. Her wife then gave birth to another son in 2019.

Longwell has been against Trump ever since he got power within the republic party. In 2018, she started an NGO called Defending Democracy Together with Bill Kristol.
Through the NGO, she collected testimonies from former supporters of Trump and used them to make his second presidential campaign in 2020 unsuccessful. The organization even spent around 35 million USD to halt the advancement of Trump in the election campaign.
With Kristol and conservative radio host Charlie Skype, she also started The Bulwark, where she brought the blend of traditional conservative beliefs with libertarians.
