Initially, O’Shaughnessy confessed in front of everyone that he had a thing for his BFF at that time, Katie Lucia Keegan.

He met Keegan while they were at Portmarnock Community College and became his greatest friend. He even took her to the prom.

It was during prom that O’Shaughnessy realized he had feelings for her. He even dedicated a song during one of his shows. However, he later corrected himself by stating that they were just friends.

After a few years of the incident, O’Shaughnessy started dating Ailbhe Casey, a musician, and songwriter. Casey is also a great dancer and choreographer.

The two of them were very much in love and even went on many trips together. But sadly, they parted ways in 2018.

When the relationship ended, O’Shaughnessy took some time off with his friends and families and started fresh.

While growing up, O’Shaughnessy joined the Billie Barry Stage school at the early age of four.

After school, he joined the Dublin Institute of Technology, where he studied music. While in college, he took a course that was part of the British and Irish Modern Music Institute.

Career.

Despite studying music in college, O’Shaughnessy started his career in the entertainment industry as an artist.

He worked as an actor in the show Fair City for ten years before focusing on his career as a singer.

He started his singing journey by signing a contract with Universal during his participation in The Voice of Ireland. 

After the show, his contact with the label ended, and he then took part in the sixth season of BGT. 

While in BGT, he received massive support and love from the audience and even reached the finale. But unfortunately, he ended in fifth place.

O’Shaughnessy then signed a contract with Sony Music and released his first single, No Name.

With his new single, he then set off for a UK headline tour. He continued his newfound fame as a singer with two more singles titled Fingertips and Evergreen.

O’Shaughnessy decided to take his career a step further and competed in The Hit, a show with a songwriting competition.

During the show, he competed against his former coach of The Voice of Ireland, Brain Kennedy. By the end of the competition, O’Shaughnessy won over Kennedy.

With all this fame and achievements, he decided to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest. Though he ended up in sixteenth place, he got more recognition among fans.

To this day, O’Shaughnessy is still active as a singer and has released his new track, Coffee, just in June of this year. He also released Lucky One just a year ago.
