Career

Wellemeyer started his career by establishing a technology company at the age of fifteen.

After two years of establishing his first company, he developed a system for a solid-state voice mail for houses. It was the first of its kind but got sold to NuTone, which was an intercom dealer.

This sale motivated him to do more, and he ended up creating a technology to count chips. Though it did not gain the market, it made him meet casino mogul Richard Schilling Jr.

With Schilling Jr, Wellemery established a casino and resort in Greenville, Mississippi, in 2004 and named it SW gaming.

While still trying to make his chip counting technology work in the market, Wellemeyer was also working on other projects. During this time, he invented VirtualPay in 1994, which was the first internet electronic lockbox.

He sold the VirtualPay to the National Processing Company and went on to develop the ViperLink in 1995. ViperLink was the first multi-point high-speed wireless internet. Later, it got sold to Paul Allen with some help from Darwin Networks.

Despite developing so many technologies already, Jeff still wanted to do more. So, he co-founded Teleadvance in 2000. Later it was renamed Smoothstone IP Communication. Like his every other previous company, this one too was sold to West Corporation.

Later in 2005, Wellemeyer announced in a press conference that he would be running the Hodges Bay Resort and Spa, an oceanfront resort. He put out the news in the presence of the Prime Minister and the Tourist Minister of Antiguan.

Ever since then, Wellemeyer has been managing the resort.
