Casey Lowery – Bio, Family, Grandfather, Education, and Career Journey

Early Life & Family Background

Casey Lowery was born and raised in Chesterfield, a working-class market town in England’s Midlands. An only child, he grew up with a flair for entertainment and a dream of breaking out beyond the local scene.

His mother encouraged his musical path early on by enrolling him in clarinet lessons, which he pursued for eight years—even though he later joked, “I just wanted money”—not classical perfection.

In the early 2000s, he was influenced by UK pop icons like Robbie Williams and Arctic Monkeys, shaping his own sense of artistic ambition.

Though he wrote songs as early as 14, Casey never expected “Trampoline” or other early demos to reach anyone—until they did.

That viral spark led to a move to London, early EPs, and a brief record deal that taught him creative limits he wasn’t ready to accept.

Eventually he returned to Chesterfield—reborn artistically and ready to carve his own path.

 Education & Artistic Foundation

Casey grew up in Grangewood in Chesterfield and he went to a school in Hasland.

Casey spent a short while in music college in London, but dropped out after a year because touring was consuming his time.

He also had a few music lessons from Palfreymans in Chesterfield.

Though academically dropped out, his real education came from performing, writing, and absorbing life lessons—from heartbreak and grief to surf trips and fan loyalty.

Career, Albums, Songs, & Creative Breakthrough

Casey’s career pivoted during the pandemic—when label interest dried up, he turned to TikTok, posting humorous covers and cheeky reactions.

His diaristic songs, often tackling chauvinism or surf culture, resonated.

One video hit 150,000 followers in a week; today, he boasts 3.2–3.8 million TikTok followers, along with 1.2 million+ on Instagram and 405K on YouTube.

Rejected by seven major labels, he launched a Kickstarter campaign with an emotional pitch: “I’m just a boy from Chesterfield with a silly dream of being a musician.” The goal (£10,000) was met in days; total backers pledged over £26,000, enough to fund his debut EP Lekkerland independently by spring 2025.

His singles “Not Ready” and “Low Mood Season” followed. The former, co-produced with collaborator Raffer, explores processing grief ahead of a loss—prompted by his grandfather’s passing and the inherited coastal caravan — an old vacation home (from his grandfather) that became his creative retreat.

The latter exceeded 300K streams in under a week, and 5% of its profits were pledged to the mental health charity Music Minds Matter.

On March 28, 2025, Casey released his full debut EP, Lekkerland. Described by Casey as a utopian outlook borrowed from South African slang meaning “something good,” the EP includes tracks like Blood Related, Blue Corduroys, Kebab Tune, and more.

Tours followed in Europe, Australia, South Africa and sold-out shows at iconic London venues like KOKO. Every tour since 2021 sold out—powered by viral songs and a fiercely supportive fan base.

He had a 10-day tour of South Africa alongside Canada’s Neon Dreams in 2022.

His 2025 North American tour includes shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, Chicago, Toronto, and New York in November, 2025.

Passing of his Grandfather

Casey was incredibly close to his grandfather, who sadly passed away in 2023. His granddad had been unwell for over a year and couldn’t leave the house during that time. Wanting to lift his spirits, Casey surprised him with a special visit—he brought his band along and performed “Caught Me at My Lowest” right there for him.

It was a moment they both cherished. His grandfather, beaming with pride, told him, “If my foot wasn’t knackered, I’d get up and dance to that one.”

He had always dreamed of seeing his grandson play live, and though he never had the chance to attend a concert, that intimate performance meant the world to both of them.

Later, after his grandfather passing, he dedicated a song called “Not ready” to him.

Net Worth & Business Moves

While exact net worth figures aren’t publicly available, his success without label backing speaks volumes. The estimated net worth of Casey Lowery is £600,000.

He’s built a DIY operation: funding albums via fans, releasing music independently, and managing his own brand—including affordable tours and grassroots outreach.

He even founded his own management company, prioritizing creative independence and community support over conventional deals.

Personal Life & Creative Ethos

Casey lives with his dog Bud and often retreats to the sea‑side caravan, where he co-wrote much of Lekkerland. His songs reflect raw emotions—love, grief, self-awareness—and even cheeky nods like “Caroline”, a tongue-in-cheek love song to his therapist.

He’s known as the “UK tongue-in-cheek songwriter,” and he’s deeply committed to community: he keeps ticket prices affordable, works with local crews on international tours, and gives back through charity donations on his music releases.
